District 44 Instant Alerts are now on Twitter

District 44 now has the ability to post their Honeywell Instant Alerts automatically on Twitter. This new feature allows the media, purveyors, and groups using the District 44 facilities, such as the Tri-Town YMCA, to also receive the 44 Alerts if they “Follow” the school district on Twitter.

The exciting option about this service, said Jay Wojcik, District 44 director of communications, “is that we are not limited to the usual 144 Twitter charters. Twitter automatically adds in a link to an expanded version of our message so the entire text of an alert we send is visible to everyone.”

District 44 began “tweeting” last year as another way to reach out and communicate with the Lombard community.
