Des Plaines hosts citizens’ police academy

The Des Plaines Police Department and Frisbie Senior Center will host the annual senior citizens’ police academy from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays March 14 through May 30 at the Frisbie Senior Center, 52 Northwest Hwy. The program will include presentations by the police department’s detective bureau, evidence technicians, tactical response team, and negotiators. Classes will be held at the senior center, except for sessions at the police shooting range. Attendance is limited to 50 participants. For information or to register, call (847) 768-5944.
