Waubonsie Valley overcomes Oswego
Rachael Ross powered in 15 points and Tami Morice added 13 for No. 3 Waubonsie Valley on Saturday in a 50-36 win over Oswego in Aurora. The Warriors (21-2) jumped out to a 15-7 lead after a quarter and 31-18 by halftime.
Benet 56, Joliet Catholic 43:
Sidney Prasse scored 12 points and hit four of her team's nine 3-pointers, and the No. 2 Redwings ran their win streak to 18 in a row. Nicole Valentine added 10 points and Christen Prasse 9 for Benet (22-4, 7-1 East Suburban Catholic Conference), who ran out to a 40-15 halftime lead in Lisle.
Montini 53, Wheaton Academy 23:
Nikia Edom scored 10 points and Sara Ross 7 for the No. 6 Broncos (25-6) in West Chicago. Tobi Ballantine scored 8 points and Ally Witt 7 to pace Wheaton Academy (15-10).
Glenbard North 45, Wheaton North 37:
Katie Wisniewski powered in 18 points and Brianna Harn 12 for the Panthers (11-13, 6-7 DVC) in Carol Stream. Chrissy Baird tallied 12 points for Wheaton North (12-14, 6-7).
Metea Valley 57, Hinsdale Central 44:
Bria Walker poured in 20 points for the host Mustangs (13-12), who won for the fifth time in six games. Anna Petersen added 11 rebounds for Metea, who outscored Hinsdale Central 24-11 in the decisive third quarter. Lilly Sarros had 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Red Devils.
South Elgin 61, Lake Park 50:
Alexis Hahn scored a season-high 31 points, but the Lancers were outscored 26-13 in the fourth quarter in Roselle. Alyssa Hernandez added 10 points for Lake Park (8-16), which dropped its seventh straight game. Loyola recruit Becca Smith scored 22 points to pace South Elgin (15-10).
Downers Grove South 49, Downers Grove North 25:
Alison Dec powered in 24 points to pace the host Mustangs. Katelyn Kubal added 12 points and Sarrah Ludwig 9. Mary Echemann scored 12 points for Downers Grove North.
