Hinsdale South claims Gold crown

Toni Romiti scored 14 points, and Uzo Okoro had 13 points and 12 rebounds as No. 14 Hinsdale South knocked off defending conference champion Proviso East 59-43 on Friday to win its first West Suburban Gold title since 2004.

Natalie Tomerlin added 10 points for the Hornets (19-5, 11-1), who are 9-1 over their last 10 games. Kalea Parks scored 13 points for Proviso East (19-8, 10-2), but she was one of three Pirates starters to finish the first half with three fouls.
