Best GOP pick? None of the above
I’ve been watching the Republican infighting to be the party’s presidential nominee, and frankly I find the top remaining candidates frightening. Let’s take them one at a time.
Newt Gingrich. Here is a man who has proved time and again that he has no morals, no ethics and can’t seem to tell the difference between the truth and a lie. The hypocrisy in his personal life is an insult to all those who truly believe in family values, because he has none.
Mitt Romney is a very, very, wealthy man who has lost touch with everyday reality and the true value of money. His comment on earning most of his income through investments but only “a little” from speaking fees in a year would be laughable if not so insulting to those who actually earn a paycheck for a living.
As for Rick Santorum, he is leaning so far to the right of normal that I can’t figure out how gravity hasn’t pulled him over yet. This man wants a woman who is raped to simply “make the best of a bad situation”? Hmmm, he thinks rape is just a bad situation ... no, Mr. Santorum, a bad situation would be having a five-hour delay on an airplane. Rape is an unimaginable, violent and serious crime!
Unfortunately, Ron Paul is just a joke.
There are many more examples that show each of these candidates is not qualified to be leader of our country. I cannot believe that the Republican Party can’t find a truly qualified contender for the highest office in our country. If these are the best leaders they have to offer, then our country and our society really is in much deeper trouble than anyone has believed.
