District 50 kids sing, clap and dance with Jim Gill

Woodland Elementary District 50's Primary School Early Childhood and Woodland Early Learning Experience students were treated to a Jan. 13 performance by children's musician and author Jim Gill.

Gill, a child development specialist, musician and author, uses his unique skills to engage children and their families in fun music and activities. He believes it is important for the children to be active members of the audience and wants the children to sing with him.

His newest release is the CD, “Music Play for Folks of All Stripes.” There are clap-alongs, finger plays, pretend games and imaginative dances — all suitable for playrooms and family rooms as well as classrooms, libraries and symphony halls.

His performance was funded by the Woodland School District 50 Parent Teacher Association.
