Search continues for Indiana woman presumed dead
LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Authorities are continuing to search a north-central Indiana river for a Lafayette woman presumed dead after vanishing last week.
State conservation officers and local police conducted an extensive search of Wildcat Creek on Tuesday for 43-year-old Kerry Dunsmore after high weekend water levels restricted their efforts.
Dunsmore was reported missing Jan. 26 and that day officers found her vehicle and belongings at a public access site for the river.
The Journal & Courier reports that Dunsmore is presumed dead. Investigators have found no sign of foul play and they suspect her disappearance might be a suicide.
Lafayette police Sgt. Jay Rosen said last week that tracks were found leading into the river.
