If so, which ones and why?First, its imperative to review programs and the impact that these programs have before any cuts are taken. One way to ensure that the program is looked at in-depth would be to do a SWOT analysis on each program. A SWOT analysis takes a look at the Strength of the program, the Weakness of the program, Opportunities and Threats to the program. What should be done with the Fort Sheridan golf course? If no building or management proposals come back from vendors, do you propose abandoning golf? If so, are you concerned about a lawsuit? Should other county or forest district departments be privatized to save taxpayers money? Please explain. When you privatize it can look good on paper. However, not all the facts go into the picture.Money was spent first on reviewing all the proposals and then on field trips to review facilities as well as other expenditures. Then an outside of the county company was hired to administer the operations. This means local tax dollars are going to the out of state company. There was a review on employees' salaries and adjustments were made, usually downward. If this were your job would you want to do it for less'Also do we now need to provide other county resources to help these employees pay their rent, electricity or other needs'I personally have been involved in jobs that were privatized and the turn over rate in one particular job was extremely high at least three people have left that job in the last two years. The cost of training and hiring makes it hard to keep the quality and the service at an optimal level.
