Interim administrator named:

Assistant Administrator Roy Witherow has been named interim village administrator in Lake Zurich, filling a spot that opened with the departure of Bob Vitas, who left the post as of Dec. 31. Village President Suzanne Branding appointed Witherow on Jan. 26. He has been with the village since October 2010. He will be paid $130,000 without benefits such as a car allowance, which is below the $145,000 plus benefits approved in the village budget for the position, according to Branding. Finding a temporary replacement could have cost up to $4,000 per week, according to the village. Applications were being accepted for the full-time position through Tuesday.
