Boy, 13, arrested after driving along Indiana highway
JACKSONBURG, Ind. — Eastern Indiana police say a 13-year-old Ohio boy was arrested after he allegedly drove alone about 60 miles along Interstate 70 while running away from home.
The Palladium-Item of Richmond reports the boy was arrested early Monday after deputies found him sitting in a car parked along I-70 near the Wayne County town of Jacksonburg.
Sheriff’s deputies say the boy told them he stole the car from his foster parents in Huber Heights, Ohio, because he wanted to visit his former home in Cincinnati. He instead became lost and decided to pull over.
Police contacted his foster parents, who realized their car had been stolen.
The boy was released Monday to Huber Heights police. He’s expected to be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and vehicle theft.
