Hot Mama to open in South Barrington

Hot Mama, a designer clothing store for moms, will open its seventh location in the Chicago area this spring at The Arboretum shopping center in South Barrington. Company owners Megan and Michael Tamte said they were attracted to The Arboretum by its surrounding demographics, which seemed a good fit for their product line. The chain opened its first location in Edina, Minn., seven years ago and now has 22 stores in eight states. The company reports that its sales have more than doubled in the past two years and that it continues to be in an expansionary mode.
