Des Plaines mayor supports ‘Rock Against Cancer’
Des Plaines Mayor Martin J. Moylan recently met with members of the Sundust Band, students from Maine West High School, who are partnering with the Des Plaines Theatre, to present “Rock Against Cancer,” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Des Plaines Theatre, 1476 Miner St., Des Plaines.
The concert is being held as a benefit for the American Brain Tumor Association, in remembrance of two students at Maine West High School in Des Plaines who died in the last year.
In addition to Sundust, two bands, Storm the Front and Freudian Slip, will perform. A variety of other acts will be featured such as poetry readings and break dancing by Boogie Fresh.
All profits will go to the American Brain Tumor Association.
