Submitted by LivingWell Cancer Center

The LivingWell Cancer Center in Geneva announces two new off-site yoga classes for cancer survivors and their family members. Both are free.

Ÿ Aurora — In coordination with LivingWell, Poonam Gupta, director of Yoga Gyan Jyoti Healing through Knowledge, is offering a five-week series of healing and restorative yoga from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 1-29. Each class will be followed by tea and fellowship. Classes will be held at the Yoga Gyan Jyoti, Center for Yoga & Ayurveda, 481 North Commons Drive, Suite D, Aurora in a shopping complex on the corner of New York and Commons Drive. Registration is required and participants are not required to attend the entire series, but are encouraged to do so for the greatest benefits.

Ÿ Warrenville — Beginning Feb. 3, LivingWell will offer yoga classes at the Central DuPage Hospital Cancer Center, 4405 Weaver Parkway, Warrenville, from 9 to 10 a.m. Fridays in addition to the Monday and Wednesday 6 p.m. yoga classes. This class is ongoing and drop-in, but preregistration is required.

Yoga helps increase flexibility, reduce anxiety and stress, support the immune system and enhance overall well-being. Poses are modified to adapt to all levels of experience, flexibility and limitations.

For both locations, each participant will be required to register before attending class, and have a physician’s release form, a health history form and a participant form submitted to LivingWell prior to attendance. Call (630) 262-1111 to register.

LivingWell is a provider of nonmedical support at no cost for people living with cancer.
