Lombard Police Department, CPA Alumni Sponsor “Step Up For Seniors” Food Drive
The campaign, aimed at providing food for seniors, will begin February 24 and run through April 8. “Many seniors and families have been hit hard by the downturn in the economy,” said Loretta Kearns, Lombard CPA Alumni Association 1st Vice President. “Unfortunately, these people rely solely on food from the food pantries as their source of sustenance,” she added.
Non-perishable canned and packaged goods, with unexpired dates, as well as cleaning and personal hygiene items are needed. Drive collection barrels will be located at the Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson; the Lombard Police Department, 235 E. Wilson; Schroder's Ace Hardware, 837 S. Westmore; Ultra Foods and 491 E. Roosevelt Road. The York Township Food Pantry is operated solely on private contributions and in-kind donations by individuals, organizations and corporations. Cash donations are also welcome and appreciated.
