Scott Skiles’ Bucks are winning road warriors lately
Local fans should know never to count out a Scott Skiles-coached team — not after he led the Bulls from an 0-9 start to the No. 4 playoff seed during the 2004-05 season.
Skiles took the Milwaukee Bucks to the playoffs two years ago, but the team didn’t generate much excitement heading into this season.
The Bucks are just 7-10 heading into tonight’s game at the United Center, but have won three straight on the road — including a victory at Miami on Sunday.
Milwaukee is getting it done with point guard Brandon Jennings and whoever happens to be playing well on a given night.
“Guys that are going good are going to be in the game, and some nights those are bench players,” Skiles said in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “We’re comfortable with anybody we bring off the bench.”
Center Andrew Bogut suffered an ankle injury Wednesday at Houston and is not expected to face the Bulls.
Bulls ratings soar:Wednesday#146;s loss to Indiana drew not only the highest rating (8.73) for a regular-season Bulls game in the history of Comcast SportsNet, but the highest rating for any pro team on the network. The previous overall record was set by the Cubs at Milwaukee on July 28, 2008. The previous best Bulls rating was for the comeback against Atlanta on Jan. 3.Rose has power:Derrick Rose was rated the 30th most powerful athlete in America by Bloomberg and Business Week. Seven NBA players ranked higher, led by LeBron James and recently-retired Shaquille O#146;Neal.
