Man accused of abusing kitten
A Chicago man has been charged with animal cruelty for kicking his kitten at least 15 feet into air and raising his arms to signal a field goal, authorities said.
Police officers said they were watching 22-year-old Percy Love as he took a running start before kicking the cat Monday afternoon.
According to police, Love told arresting officers his cat, who he named Nightmare, is tough and that he plays with it like that all the time.
Officers took custody of the cat and turned it over to an animal care facility, where it is being treated for injuries.
Love has been ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bail. It wasn’t immediately known if he has obtained the services of a lawyer. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 1.
