NIU basketball coach dismisses forward Toler

DEKALB — Northern Illinois University has been dismissed forward Tim Toler from the school’s basketball team.

NIU head coach Mark Montgomery said Thursday that the senior from Indianapolis violated team rules before the Huskies’ Saturday game against Ball State. Montgomery says Toler will remain in school.

Toler played in 16 games this season, starting 14 times. He averaged 10.8 points per game.
