Wis man sentenced in death of mother
MERRILL, Wis. — A Wisconsin man who killed his mother and staged her death as an accident has been sent to prison for life.
Twenty-five-year-old Chase Boruch (BOR’-uk) was sentenced Monday afternoon in Lincoln County Circuit Court in the June 2010 death of his mother, Sally Pergolski. At that time, Boruch called 911 to say his mother had crashed their truck into a lake. But prosecutors say Boruch staged the crash in order to claim insurance money.
Boruch told the judge that he, at some point, had lost touch with responsibility for humanity and the community. Boruch was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. WAOW-TV says his attorney plans an appeal.
