Lake Zurich training center celebrates anniversary
Submitted by Kate Mitchum
On Monday, Jan. 2, Go Hardball Training Academy of Lake Zurich celebrated its five-year anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the academy hosted a family-friendly fundraising event with all proceeds going to Lake Zurich Baseball and Softball Association. Area businesses that donated their services included Avalon Salon and Day Spa of Deer Park, SportClips of Lake Zurich and Couture Cupcake Café of Kildeer.
Go Hardball originally started as a home-based business run at the Hoffman Estates residence of owners Kate Mitchum and Tony Feo. In 2009 Go Hardball subleased space in Kits Sports Center and in October of 2010 they opened their own fully dedicated facility located at 100 Oakwood Road in Lake Zurich.
“We love the area and we love the people here,” Mitchum said. “LZBSA does a lot for us so we wanted to give something back to the association and to the kids.”
