Pro life, but not for all

So how does a “pro-life” politician treat living things? Pretty poorly it turns out, at least for those living things that the politician doesn’t value.

Right-wing extremists Joe Walsh and Randy Hultgren supported the following in HR 2384 “ ... that none of the funds shall be used for implementing subsections (a), (b), (c), and (e) of section 4 of the Endangered Species Act ...”, which means that they not only sought to allow wildlife to be killed in search of profit but to allow entire species to be brought to extinction in the name of the almighty dollar.

In fact, Hultgren and Walsh made this emphatic in their “No” vote, along with 87 percent of the Republicans in the House, to strike that proviso from the Department of the Interior appropriations bill (H.Amdt. 735: An amendment to strike the proviso relating to funding limitations in the Endangered Species Act.)

They are bound and determined to make their god mammon, the god of the nation; as if it weren’t already.

The good thing is that 187 Democrats and 37 Republicans are better than the lowest common denominator in the Republican’s right wing, all 202 of them, and voted yes on H.AMdt. 735, to ensure that threatened and endangered species can be protected under law.

There is something very wrong with members of Congress who see extinction, and abject brutality, as acceptable in the search for the almighty dollar and wealth more important than life. It’s time to remove Hultgren and Walsh and their partisans from office. There is more to life than money as the economy is a figment of the human mind and death and extinction are real and forever.
