Too late to make nice with Ron Paul camp

Two interesting news bits came out of the mouths of Republican leaders Sarah Palin, after the Iowa contest, mentioned that the GOP needed to start making nice with the Ron Paul people.

Illinois Republican Chairman Pat Brady responded by saying that without the support of Paul’s people the GOP could not win the election. Now comes Grover Norquist in a open letter to the Republicans that they have no choice but to let Ron Paul speak at the GOP convention.

Norquist wrote, “Ron Paul is the only candidate for the Republican nomination whose endorsement will matter to Mitt Romney. It is the only endorsement that will bring votes and the only endorsement, if withheld, that could cost Romney the general election.”

Attempts to confront Republican/conservative talk show hosts about these first two statements were dodged. I just wanted to know how after years of telling Ron Paul supporters to “drop dead” how did they think they could mend fences? When the GOP, along with all their media cohorts, marginalized and maligned Pat Buchanan in his races for the presidency, they did it to me.

When this same group ostracized and abused Ron Paul verbally and by their categorization of his supporters as ignorant fools, they did it to me and now they want my vote. I say to them “drop dead.”

Let’s be honest, Paul has a loyal following, but he cannot control the anti-Romney faction of it, which is substantial. A quote from an independent voter: “A Mitt Romney candidacy will be the death of the Republican Party. Now that may be a good thing because it’s possible a truly conservative party will emerge from the wreckage.“ The Limbaughs and the O’Reillys are the past, but they haven’t realized it yet. Paul represents the young and up and coming voices of America.
