HIV-positive sex offender abused boy, police say

MUNCIE, Ind. — A registered sex offender who allegedly told police he is HIV positive and has Hepatitis C has been arrested on charges he sexually abused a teenage Indiana boy.

Forty-four-year-old Rex Allen Price of Greenfield was being held without bond Saturday in the Delaware County Jail in Muncie. The Star Press reports faces preliminary charges of sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of material harmful to a child and child solicitation.

The jail had no record of Price having an attorney.

Authorities say Price showed child pornography to a Muncie boy in his early teens, then fondled him and performed a sex act on him.

Price was convicted of child molesting in Hancock County in 1991 and is listed on the state online sex offender registry.
