Blog features hospital staff posts, health news

CHICAGO — Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago has launched a blog featuring medical news, health information, research innovations and perspectives from hospital staff.

Doctors are writing some of the blog entries. In one, an emergency medicine specialist writes about patients searching for their symptoms online. The doctor says the trend is so common that doctors joke "that the patient has been seen by Dr. Google."

The Northwestern Memorial News Blog is the most recent addition to the hospital's social media efforts, which also includes Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Readers cab share posts on their own social media pages. They can comment on and rate blog entries.
