Prison for two in Carpentersville home invasion

Two of four people arrested after a Carpentersville home invasion in spring 2011 after a marijuana deal went bad are going to prison.

Franklin Alrich Jr., 26, of the 1800 block of Endicott Circle, Carpentersville, pleaded guilty this week to residential burglary and was sentenced to four years in prison, according to court records.

In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped a host of other charges, including home invasion, armed violence, trespassing, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated battery to a police officer.

Johnny Lesure-Glasper, 26, of the 1100 block of Apple Lane, Elgin, got a similar deal. He pleaded guilty last August to residential burglary and also was sentenced to four years in prison. Several other charges were dismissed, records show.

In court documents, prosecutors said Glasper was a known marijuana dealer in the Elgin and Carpentersville areas.

Police said the four men broke into a home in the 300 block of Four Winds Way on the village’s west side on March 13, 2011, in an attempt to retrieve and ounce of marijuana that was stolen from Lesure-Glasper earlier in the day.

A 17-year-old resident was home at the time and called police from his basement as armed men walked around inside.

Alrich and Derell D. Howse, 21, of the 0-99 block of North Grove Street, Carpentersville, are accused of entering the home while armed and Alrich had on a ski mask and gloves, police said. No one was hurt and no shots were fired.

Howse is up for a jury trial on March 19.

Edgar J. Sametio, 23, of the 2000 block of Berkshire Circle, is due in court Feb. 16.

Both men face a minimum of six years in prison if convicted of home invasion.
