Promises, promises, toll authority

Recently, the Daily Herald has run a couple of articles in which Marni Pyke has interviewed Kristi Lafleur, executive director of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.

Ms. Lafleur stresses that it is a commitment to extend access to O’Hare Airport and access around the airport. I couldn’t find anything about keeping previous commitments.

When the Illinois Toll Highways were opened in 1957, it was with the commitment that once the bonds were paid off, the toll highways would become freeways.

I would like Ms. Lafleur to set the date that the Illinois Toll Highway Authority will be ended and the tolls ended.
