Our nation’s people must be united

We are the same. No matter what religion we may believe in, we are still the same. No matter the political belief, we are still the same. No matter if we are rich or poor, we are still the same. No matter the hopes and dreams we may have, we are still the same, for it is in those hopes and dreams what makes us all what we are.

Or are we really the same? Are we equal? Do people with one religious belief have the right to impose their belief on others as part of a viable government to the point of being exclusive? Does a political belief or idealism have the right to suppress the betterment of all in order for simple political gain?

The question of who can dictate or be dictated upon, based upon our founding history, must be addressed. There are those of wealth who, as a result of that wealth, feel that they have the right to determine how those beneath them should or can live. The different ideas, beliefs, hopes and dreams of the people are what made this country great. The great struggles that the people have endured and are enduring is epic and their quest is simple: to insure better lives for their children than they had, to see their dreams come true through hard work and perseverance and not be dashed because of greed.

Lest we forget, this country is a country of the people, rich or poor, a nation united because of the people. It is the people’s house. As Proverbs 11:29 teaches us. “He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind.”
