Gurnee Police seeking help to solve home burglary
Gurnee Police are searching for a red minivan that may have been involved in a Jan. 12 burglary, officials said.
Cmdr. Jay Patrick said in a news release that the residential burglary occurred in the 400 block of Belle Plaine Avenue. Officers were called to the scene at 11:34 a.m. and discovered a window attached to a rear door had been broken and unlocked.
Once inside, the offenders took electronic game consoles, games and various home electronic devices, Patrick said. No one was in the home at the time of the burglary, and no one was injured.
A witness told police he saw two black males and a 25-year-old to 30-year-old Hispanic or black female with dark shoulder length hair remove items from the home, Patrick said. She was last seen carrying a computer and flat screen monitor or television, before climbing into the drivers seat of the dark red minivan, he said.
One male was in his early to mid 20s, 5-feet, 8-inches to 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, and wearing a black and white checkered winter hat with ear flaps, a dark jacket and dark pants, he said.
Patrick said the second male was described as also in his 20s with a similar build as the first male, but was wearing a dark blue or gray hooded jacket and dark pants.
All three subjects were seen leaving in a dark red, older model Dodge Caravan or Plymouth Voyager minivan, with a missing wheel cover on the right front tire, Patrick said.
