Village should try to keep Garden Fresh

The Garden Fresh on Rand Road in Arlington Heights has a “Closing March 4th for Remodeling” sign. Seemed odd since they just remodeled last year. When questioning the employees as to if they are remodeling or closing they look away sheepishly and offer you the number of the corporate office. I feel this is very telling.

I would urge the Village of Arlington Heights to find out what is really going to happen to this grocery store. It is very much needed in this community as an affordable alternative to the large chains. Fresh produce and meats at reasonable prices are always available, as well as many specialty items for many cultures. They support the food pantries by offering pre-made bags of donate-able groceries for purchase. Let’s find out what’s going on and try to keep this store open.
