Let’s decorate our elk for Christmas
We all know that the lion is King of the Beasts. The Art Institute’s lions get a beautiful Christmas wreath to adorn their necks. They also are given Bears helmets when there is reason to celebrate!
I am wondering why the elk statue in front of Elk Grove’s municipal building is not given a Christmas wreath. After all, we have a herd of elk in Busse Woods from which our village is named. The old white elk statue at least had a red bow!
I hope that Mr. Johnson and the village trustees will rectify this omission for future Christmas holidays.
