Homelessness can be prevented
Your recent story about AnnMarie Walsh was of particular interest to me as she was a frequent client of Journeys from PADS to HOPE over the last five years. We are pleased she has found a place to call home at Deborah’s Place.
In many ways, AnnMarie represents the changing face of the homeless in our area — intelligent, motivated and resourceful people who, for one reason or another, find themselves without a home. While we didn’t play a role in helping AnnMarie find Deborah’s Place, in each of the last five years we helped an average of 75 other men, women and children move out of homelessness. Today, our services go beyond serving the homeless to the prevention of homelessness in the first place — in the last year alone we helped almost 700 people avoid homelessness.
Not only do we provide compassionate service to those in need, we are achieving significant results.
