App reviews: Imo, WritePad

Imo

For those who want to check in on their chat applications from their mobile devices, Imo is a great app that lets you conduct conversations on several applications at once. You can add your sign-in information to the app for chat programs such as Google Talk, Facebook, Steam, Yahoo or MSN — networks vary by operating system. Users can choose to link all their networks to sign on simultaneously or to switch individual services off and on. Free, for iOS and Android.

WritePad

There are plenty of handwriting recognition applications on the market, but few of the free ones are as good as WritePad for Apple’s mobile devices. WritePad lets users trace letters with their fingers, type and save files into separate folders. The recognition software works very well, and the app even lets you choose some settings to help the app better read your handwriting. So whether you have the tendency to write in script or to print, the app should be able to decipher your scribbles. WritePad also lets you share your notes on email, social networks or even via text message. $4 for iPhone and $10 for iPad.
