Pizza night to raise funds for Elgin teen’s transplant

Submitted by COTA for Greg

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, Nick’s Pizza & Pub, 990 S. Randall Road, Elgin will hold a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for Children’s Organ Transplant Association, in honor of Elgin teen Greg White.

Enjoy a great night of fun and help raise money for a great cause. Bring the flier, available at cotaforgregw.com, with your dine-in or carryout order and 15 percent of the sales generated from this fundraiser will be given to this organization. Alcohol sales and tax will be deducted. Fliers are not to be distributed to Nick’s Pizza & Pub regular guests on the date of the event.

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant patients.

In Elgin, volunteers are raising funds for transplant patients like White, a junior at Larkin High School. The 16-year-old, the son of Steven and Melissa White, has cystic fibrosis. The doctors at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri have recommended a lifesaving double lung transplant. An estimated $70,000 is being raised by Elgin volunteers.
