Snowmobilers rescued from Rock County lake
EDGERTON, Wis. — Three snowmobilers were rescued from Lake Koshkonong (KOSH-koh-nong) in Rock County after breaking through the ice.
The sheriff’s department says the three were leading a group of snowmobilers about 150 yards from shore Thursday night near High Wood Beach. After the three broke through the ice, the rest of snowmobilers in the group were able to turn around and call for help.
The three snowmobilers, all males ages 19 to 22, managed to pull themselves out of the water, but were stranded on the ice. The Journal Sentinel says two of the three were taken to Edgerton Hospital where they were treated for exposure to the cold water.
