Leneau’s big bucket lifts Warren

Lexi Leneau has a history of being a clutch performer in her four-year varsity basketball career for Warren.

She demonstrated it again Friday night, sinking the game-winning layup at the buzzer, as the Blue Devils edged Andrew 34-32 in a McDonald’s Shootout game at Willowbrook.

Leneau finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.

Amanda Barger and Alyssa Phillips added 8 points apiece for Warren (12-7), which won its third straight and seventh in eight games.

Grayslake North 40, Crystal Lake Central 35: The host Knights rallied to win a tightly contested Fox Valley Fox Division game, as Jordyn Bowen’s 11 points (two 3-pointers) led a balanced attack.

Brooke Sauer added 10 points and 8 rebounds for Grayslake North (14-4, 5-1). Kendall Detweiler sank two 3-pointers and scored 7 of her 9 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Knights rally from a 24-21 deficit after three.

Katie McGrath had 8 points for Grayslake North.
