Wis. board to discuss Walker recall procedure

MADISON, Wis. — The state board charged with reviewing signatures to recall Gov. Scott Walker from office plans to discuss how it will proceed given a court order requiring that its analysis of the signatures be more detailed than originally planned.

The Government Accountability Board has already said it planned to ask a judge for 60 days to review the petitions seeking a recall of Walker and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. The law only gives 31 days for the review.

But in light of last week’s court ruling in favor of Walker and the state Republican Party, the board may have to take even longer to go over the signatures to delete duplicates and obviously fake names like Mickey Mouse.

The board planned to discuss its options at a Thursday meeting.
