Wis. DNR online chats gaining popularity
MADISON, Wis. — State Department of Natural Resources officials say more people are logging on to find out about agency regulations.
DNR Customer Service and Licensing Director Diane Brookbank says use of the agency’s online chat service has grown more than 22 percent since last year.
The service allows customers to chat with a DNR customer service representative about anything from hunting rules to firewood transportation restrictions. DNR officials say the service is more effective than traditional phone conversations because agents can handle more than one customer at once and send people images, links and other information.
The service is available from 7 a.m. until 9:45 p.m. seven days a week through a link on the DNR home page.
