Cable hosts Paralympic Nordic Skiing World Cup
CABLE, Wis. — Northern Wisconsin is hosting the 2012 International Paralympic Nordic Skiing World Cup this month.
There are currently more than 180 athletes signed up from 15 countries for the event Jan. 23 through Jan. 30 at Telemark Resort in Cable.
James Bolen, executive director of the Cable Area Chamber of Commerce, says the event is extremely spectator friendly. He says it will be held in a stadium area where athletes will come through between seven and 14 times for each race.
The event includes 24 different races and they are all free.
Organizers say Telemark was the host for the first International Ski Federation cross country World Cup in December 1977.
