Recounting crimes unnecessarily cruel
To the editor: I purposely did not read the Dec. 26 article “Crime and Punishment 2011,” recounting “major law enforcement stories” of our suburban area.
You have printed what you deemed newsworthy, but what possible public good was served by the abbreviated “recapping” of these tragedies? The families and friends of both victims and perpetrators must see their agony redisplayed, on the day after Christmas, for the benefit of your readership.
This article was unnecessary, dismissive and cruel. Have pity on the innocent and those who mourn.
