Des Plaines History Center celebrates Year of the Dragon
The Des Plaines History Center will celebrate the Chinese New Year, or the “Year of the Dragon,” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21.
The event is designed for children ages 5 through 12 years old. Registration is not required. The cost is $2 for History Center members and $4 for nonmembers. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, falls on Jan. 23 in 2012. Program participants will learn about the history and traditions associated with the holiday. A new year-themed craft project and snacks will be offered.
