Car plunges down bluff in Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — The driver of a car that plunged off a lakeshore bluff in Sheboygan survived after his vehicle flipped over and landed on rocks below.

Witnesses say the car flew through an intersection near Lakeshore Dr., plowed through some pine trees and careened down a 150-foot embankment Sunday afternoon. The car ended up just a few feet from Lake Michigan.

Fire crews used boats to rescue the man who was conscious when first responders reached him. He was taken to the hospital by the Flight for Life helicopter. Fire commander Gary Kolberg tells The Sheboygan Press he doesn’t know how seriously the man was injured.
