Democrats losers in pipeline deal

So the Democrats in Congress got a two-month extension of the payroll tax cut in return for an expedited Keystone XL pipeline. Experts tell us that the pipeline will divert oil currently coming into the U.S. and thus raise the nation’s gasoline prices. A Cornell University study tells us that the number of jobs actually created will be one-tenth of those promised.

Rosy predictions of the benefits of the pipeline come from oil companies that will benefit and those in Congress receiving oil money — hardly unbiased sources. Two months more of a tax break in return for an environment-destroying pipeline with little economic benefit and whose damage will last forever. Way to go Dems!
