A debate that’s good for meteorologists
In reference to the recent Daily Herald article, “A milder winter than expected?” it seems the climate change alarmists were wrong yet again. But hey, eventually they’ll get it right — right?
When I was growing up in the ’60s and ’70s we were told by these same people that we were fast approaching another “Ice Age,” which of course had everything to do with the irresponsible activities of man just going about life in general. That was way back, you know, when Pluto was still thought of as another planet.
These Al Gore wannabes still insist man-made global warming is real. A case can possibly be made that there is climate change going on, but I’m still not sold that man has much to do with it. I mean, how did the original Ice Age subside? There was no industry or internal combustion engines back then to fuel the warming which caused the ice to melt.
The article made mention that 1877 was the warmest on record in Chicago. Could this possibly be attributed to horse flatulence? I suspect so, as the automobile would not come on the scene for years and industry was not at the level it is now.
Maybe I picked the wrong line of work. Considering all the available government grants, I should have studied to be a meteorologist where you can be right half the time, be viewed as an authority in the field and make six figures!
