Indiana trumpets 46 sandwiches for contest
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana’s tourism office is using the upcoming Super Bowl to spotlight 46 regionally popular sandwiches as part of a quest to find the state’s tastiest sandwich.
The Super 46 Sandwiches competition aims to highlight dining options across Indiana that might appeal to Super Bowl fans.
The sandwiches include numerous tenderloins — an Indiana specialty — a cheeseburger slathered in peanut butter and a bratwurst sandwich.
The state Office of Tourism Development produced a limited-edition guide of the 46 sandwiches that includes the distance each eatery is from Lucas Oil Stadium, where the Super Bowl will be played Feb. 5.
Indiana residents and visitors can vote online at Super46.com for their favorites among the sandwiches, narrowing the field each week. The winning sandwich will be announced in early February.
