Des Plaines City Clerk Gloria J. Ludwig was recently awarded the title “Registered Municipal Clerk” by the Municipal Clerks of Illinois.
According to a correspondence from Pamela E. Whisler, coordinator of the MCl Registered Clerk Program and village clerk of the village of Godfrey, “The achievement of Registered Clerk status is confirmation of one’s commitment to professional education and willingness to continue to update knowledge and skills in an effort to better serve the community.”
Ludwig, who has served as Des Plaines City Clerk since 2009, received a pin and a plaque signed by Whisler and Brian “Petie” Ruch, MCI president, for the designation which requires candidates to fulfill basic requirements as a member of the Municipal Clerks of Illinois as well as standards for registration, which consist of points for education, experience, leadership in a Clerks’ Association, and professional development.
