NE Ind. city getting new $13M parts plant

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. — A northeastern Indiana county is getting a new auto and construction parts plant its developer says will create more than 100 new jobs.

Impact CNC will spend nearly $13 million to adapt a 30,000-square-foot building it’s purchased near Columbia City in Whitley County. The plant will make parts mostly for the automotive, construction and agriculture industries.

Company owner Jerry Busche tells The Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne the business is expected to be operational in March and employ up to 106 workers.

He says the U.S. is in a recovery and businesses are rebounding, giving him confidence in the new venture.

The company is seeking applicants for computer-related positions, forklift drivers, maintenance workers and other positions. The wage range is $12 to $18 an hour.
