Disabled people get help planning for emergencies
SPRINGFIELD — The state of Illinois is offering people with disabilities some help on planning for emergencies.
The Emergency Management Agency has put together a booklet with tips on things like dealing with life-support systems during a crisis or making sure guide dogs get proper care.
It has sections related to hearing loss, blindness, lack of mobility, mental illness and more.
The information can be found at the website www.ready.illinois.gov
The Emergency Management Agency says it plans to highlight a different aspect of emergency planning during 2each month of 2012.
