Music notes: Arcada hosts 'A Nite of Boston'
Still ‘Feeling' it
Fran Cosmo and Anthony Cosmo, the former lead singer and guitarist, respectively, of arena rockers Boston, will visit the suburbs this weekend for “A Nite of Boston.” The pair, who played with Boston in the 1990s and 2000s, will perform the group's many hits — “More Than a Feeling” and “Peace of Mind” among them — which continue to be staples on classic-rock radio.
8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. The band Infinity opens. $19 to $45. Go to oshows.com.
Get ready to celebrate
Rare Earth, the funky, soulful rock band that scored big hits in the 1970s, will play two suburban shows next week. The band is best known for driving classic-rock hits like “I Just Want to Celebrate,” which has become a popular song on movie soundtracks. But the band has continued to record and play in the years since.
Rare Earth performs at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire. $15. Go to viper-alley.com. (The band will also perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at the Arcada Theatre.)
Winter indie rock
