Aurora’s Rosary announces state scholars

Rosary High School in Aurora recently announced that 17 percent of its senior class has been recognized as 2011 Illinois State Scholars.

They are: Kelsey Arnold, Maggie Bailey, Devon Bavery, Angelica Bestler, Courtney Bila, Alexandra Bode, Samantha Duarte, Megan Fitzpatrick, Melissa Lifka, Kaitlyn Lindgren, Gina Matsie, Emmy Popovich, Kallie Renfus, Ellicia Sanchez, Galilea Sanchez, Melissa Shaw, Laura Skaar, Allison Stephans, Amelia Wegman and Hannah Wulbert.

The Illinois State Scholar Program recognizes high school students for outstanding academic achievement. Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the state’s graduating seniors are recognized as Illinois State Scholars. Rankings are based on a combination of ACT test scores and class rank at the end of the sixth semester of high school.

Rosary High School is an all-girls, Catholic high school at 901 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora.
