Western Illinois rolls over South Dakota 67-44
MACOMB, Ill. — Obi Emegano had 20 points and Western Illinois outscored South Dakota by 22 points in the second half of a 67-44 victory Tuesday night.
Ceola Clark made five 3-pointers among his 19 points with seven assists for the Leathernecks (7-5, 2-2 Summit League), who shot 54 percent (25 of 46). Terell Parks just missed his fifth double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Charlie Westbrook scored 18 points for the Coyotes (5-9, 0-5), who dropped their third straight.
South Dakota led 27-22 late in the first half, but Western Illinois finished on a 6-0 run for a 28-27 advantage at the break.
The Leathernecks led just 34-33 with 16:01 to go before launching a 25-5 run that ended on Parks’ dunk with 4:45 remaining. They outscored South Dakota 39-17 in the second half.
The loss opened a four-game road swing for South Dakota.
