FREE Emergency Preparedness Training Classes begin January 17

This free 20+ hour evening course, provided free by the village of Palatine, will teach you how to prepare for any emergency, and protect yourself and your family should one occur.

The 8 evening classes, which run week nights between January 17 and February 7, are held in the Emergency Operations Center at Village Hall, 200 E. Wood Street in Palatine, except for Fire Safety which is held at Palatine Fire Station 84, 22 W. Illinois St. All evening classes begin at 6:30 PM and are generally completed by 9:30 PM.

Thursday 1/19 - Search & Rescue

Monday 1/23- Medical I

Tuesday 1/24 - Medical II

Wednesday 1/25 - Fire Safety at Fire Station 84

Monday 1/30 - Psychology of Terrorism

Tuesday 1/31- Review & Simulated Disaster Exercise

A final Orientation class at 7:00 PM on Tuesday 2/7 will be offered to those who wish to take the optional advanced training which will qualify them to become an active part of the Village of Palatine's response capability.

Remember to tune to 1660 AM, the village of Palatine's Emergency Advisory Radio Station, for local weather reports, advisories and announcements affecting the Palatine area. In the event of an emergency, the station will broadcast essential up-to-the-minute reports, alerts and instructions.
